Training Programs
In order to achieve the maximum use of the resources of Howard , the National Government and the Panama-Pacifico Special Economic Area Agency have established, as its main priority and goals, the attraction of investments, the creation of jobs and economic development, to increase Panama's competitive advantage.
In order to achieve efficient development of the Panama-Pacifico Special Economic Area, Panama will strengthen its human resources through education and training.
The Special Economic Area will operate in a world of globalism and high technological content. Therefore, it is imperative to have a program that strengthens and trains highly qualified human resources and ensures their high performance and productivity.
To do so, these training areas have been targeted:
• Ability to communicate in English.
• Services related to aviation and airports, including aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul.
• The manufacture of high technology products, components and parts.
• Computer, telecommunication and technology skills, including Call Center support; capture, processing, transmission and retransmission of data and digital information, and back-office operations.
• Investment Opportunities
• Howard offers not only excellent transportation assets such as the airport, hangars and other facilities. • Dell Panamá, Established as a Call Center in the Howard area in the year 2003, it started operation with approximately 500 employees. • River Latinoamerica Industrial, River is one of the leader suppliers of chemical treatments for domestic and agricultural use in the world. It provides the latest biological products and chemical treatment machinery for customers on three continents. It has also diversified into other areas. River's Industrial Development Center was established in Panama to manufacture biochemical products, phytosanitary (plant health related) fertilizers, plague control products for domestic use, agriculture supplies. It is researching tropical plants for renewable, eolic and solar energy, water treatment, transportation, dispatch, consolidation and storage activities, and logistic management activities.
• I.P Leather Corp, Is a company funded by Italian and Panamanian capital to meet the needs of the processed leather market. I.P. is creating a tanning plant to process high quality finished leather products for the European and American markets. The complex will have a chemical mixing plant for the processing of finished leather and a water treatment plant.
• Howard Kids, The Panama-Pacifico Special Economic Area operates a day care center for children. It is open from 8:00AM until 6:00PM to the general public.
